Smithfield Birmingham Markets, Birmingham

We have been appointed to help regenerate a 42-acre site in Birmingham city centre. We’re part of a fantastic team of leading UK architects including Stirling prize winners Howarth Tompkins and DRMM and RCKA and Intervention Architecture.

The £1.9 billion, 17 hectare city-centre regeneration scheme includes a market building, public squares, cultural buildings, offices, retail and over 3,000 new homes; all supported by a range of new community facilities and a new park, Smithfield Park.

We’re working with Haworth Tompkins Architects on a new building providing 10 floors of office space and 12 storeys of housing sitting on a two storey podium. It will create over 183,000 square feet of office space with direct access from a newly created square and around 100 new homes.
