What Our Clients Say

“We spoke to a number of architects for help with our bungalow refurbishment. We were drawn to Minesh's enthusiasm for our project and his impressive range of experience. A project like this can be very stressful, however we felt relaxed and constantly reassured. It is evident he is passionate about his work and we'd be happy to work with him again in the future. Highly recommended!”

G THOMAS

“We are really pleased with the service from Minesh. His price was competitive and he was responsive and efficient in communicating with us. His design for our extension is much better than what we'd originally thought up! Would recommend.”

K GABRIEL

“The experience and proven capability of Minesh in previous big developments and designs gave me confidence that he would be ideal for the project. I am not a builder or property developer, so I needed someone I could trust to get it right first time and who was very reasonably priced . I was not disappointed.”

Home Extension Birmingham - FAQ

Why use a Birmingham architect?
Building projects can be challenging so a Birmingham architect can be a valuable guide and provide assistance to ensure your project meets your requirements. Choosing to work with a Birmingham architect means feeding into a lot of technical knowledge, skill and creativity. The decisions your Birmingham architect makes will have a long-standing effect on your project so a Birmingham architect will add a lot of value and help make the most of your budget.

When should I involve a Birmingham architect?
We’d recommend involving a Birmingham architect as early as possible. The most important decisions are made early on in a project, so the sooner they are involved the sooner they can provide guidance and advice.

How can I check if a Birmingham architect is registered?
The title ‘architect’ is protected by law, so making sure your Birmingham architect is ARB registered is important. Use this link to check if your Birmingham architect is on the Register: Architects Register. If they are not on the register, they are not an architect.

How much do architects in Birmingham charge?
The fee depends on the project. For standard extensions, you should expect a lower fixed fee. For larger bespoke projects with project management, expect a percentage rate of the overall build cost.

What is the difference between planning permission and building regulations?
Building regulations ensure minimum standards for design and construction and cover areas such as health and safety (i.e means of escape and smoke detection), energy (insulation), accessibility (stair heights and level access). Planning is more about the appearance and covers things such as land use, landscape and highways. For most projects, separate permissions will be required for both.

What other costs do I need to consider?

Planning Application Fees
Most extensions - £206
