Cambridgeshire Housing

The design of this new housing scheme seeks to prove that volume house building needn’t be ordinary. The elevation design is derived from the traditional Georgian terrace and the layout encourages a sense of community through the use of semi-public communal gardens. The groups of terraces also take advantage of open views whilst providing a suitably high density.

Eastern Quarter, Cambridge

This scheme reinterprets the traditional Georgian terrace to provide flexible, high density housing. It features a variety of house types designed with flexibility and adaptability in mind - essential for housing to be sustainable. The materials were carefully chosen to reflect the local Cambridgeshire vernacular and are to be sourced locally. At the heart of the scheme lies a communal garden to encourage residents to be more socially and physically active and to grow their own food.
